Watching the Crossfit Games. Must join a CF gym - not because I want to start doing CF, but because the guys look like beautiful, masculine, Greek gods.
today i realized something important: my body is very carbohydrate-dependent. i tried to do a hike today that i’ve done 4x before… my goal was to do it in under 20 minutes since i was able to do it last time in 20:35. i had oatmeal this morning and then no carbs really for lunch besides some veggies — BAD IDEA to try to do an intense hike. i barely made it in 25 minutes. i thought i was going to have to stop because i was struggling so bad but i made myself at least finish it without taking a break. yikes. granted, it was 100 degrees out at 4 in the afternoon but still. i did make it down in the fastest time, though, so that was at least a good thing.
my goal is to still make it in under 20 minutes by the end of the summer… so i have a little over 2 weeks. i will do it. but i will definitely load up on carbs beforehand…
and now i feel like i just ate the weight of a small dinosaur in chicken, sweet potato, and baked broccoli and carrots…. ughhh so full. but soooooooo good :D
this body. i guarantee she got this body by eating a solid amount of calories each day, lifting heavy weights, and nourishing her body for strength and fitness vs. depriving herself of needed energy and foods.
good for you, girl.

your weight fluctuates on a daily basis! to the degree of like 2-4 pounds!! you might weigh more if:
please please please don’t discouraged if you suddenly weigh 4 pounds heavier than you did yesterday. or the day before. it is nearly impossible to gain a pound overnight. just drink some water, eat lots of fiber, and get your body moving. you’ll see a difference soon. i promise.
watching right now. umm i can’t even express how much i love the male gymnasts. drooling.
ahhh i LOVE these girls. gymnasts have to be sooo physically and mentally tough. muscle is a must for power and strength, and many of them do yoga for flexibility. a strong core is definitely needed for balance and agility. whoever says gymnasts aren’t athletes are just plain idiots.

it’s a shame that more girls don’t strength train or are afraid to do it. since i’ve started lifting heavy, it’s made a HUGE difference in my body shape and mood.
i feel like my mindset is changing. in the past couple years, my diet and lifestyle revolved around doing everything the diet experts say i should do to lose weight/fat. now, i’m realizing that i need to do everything the fitness experts say i should to do PUT ON MUSCLE to be at a healthy weight and mind. this includes:
